Try Something New

Today’s blog is going to talk about something I want Magda K Nutrition to encourage you to do, which is try something new.

I’ll be honest, I don’t like change. I tend to order the same takeaway (Fish and Chips), buy the same coffee (Soya Flat White), and have the same dinners on repeat. It’s nice to have a routine, a pattern. 2020 was that year of routine without newness. The year of no travel has made me realise I miss having the opportunities of exploring new things. I especially miss going to new restaurants and trying new foods. For me, I remember trips and adventures a lot brighter when they’re accompanied by great food.

Here are photos of my last Birthday dinner where we celebrated by going to The Ivy Chelsea Garden.

We had scallops as the starter, I had the blackened cod for mains and my boyfriend had a chicken dish. The blackened cod was beyond words amazing. I was absolutely loving it. I had never had it before. Even though I did play it a bit safe by going for cod, a fish I knew I liked, I still stepped out of my comfort zone because I tend to like mind battered with a side of chunky chips and curry sauce.  Let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious. It’s the first thing I think of when I think back to my birthday.

However, playing it safe doesn’t work out every time. My boyfriend’s meal, although it looks nice and was yummy, it wasn’t very….special. The point of the story is, next time you’re going to order in or you’re at a restaurant, don’t go for your usual. Try something new. Yes, it might be a flop and you’ll think it was a waste of money. But oh my gosh, when it exceeds your expectations, you’ll forever remember that meal.

Trying something new is something I want Magda K Nutrition to embrace and inspire you to do. Starting up this website, making recipes, and writing this blog is me trying to start something new. I want to inspire you to be brave and do the same. 2020 showed us life is too short for doing the things we hate. It’s why I opened myself to developing my freelance work because I know that’s what I want to be doing eventually, so why not start now. So go ahead and keep an eye out for the upcoming recipes on my website. Just try it. Open yourself up to new experiences because, at the end of the day, that’s what you’ll remember.

Thank you for reading this. Tag me in any of your recipe recreations or if I’ve inspired you to try something new and let’s talk about your experience.
